Introducing…. Nana’s Sweatshoppe!
Soft & Snuggly burp cloths for the fashionable baby.
The social media hiatus is over. I promise to write about that experience another day but today I’m so excited to tell you about an idea I’ve been noodling around since the beginning of the year. I am taking the leap and starting an online business called Nana’s Sweatshoppe 🙂
This past January I traveled a bit to visit Favorite Navy Wife to help her get ready for Favorite Pixie’s arrival. By the way, she was born in May and is the absolutely most beautiful Pixie in the world!
Am I right?
Anyway, while I was visiting I did a bunch of sewing projects for the new baby, one of which was these super fun burp cloths.
We picked out several cute flannel fabrics and attached them to trifold diapers to create cute and functional burp cloths for FNW to use.
They turned out really great and I discovered that I enjoyed making them. So much so that I thought, “Why don’t I make these and sell them so that every baby can have a fabulously soft and snuggly burp cloth?”
Back at home, I began to tinker around with patterns, fabrics, decorations, etc. I wanted to find the perfect “thing” for my special burp cloths. Something that would differentiate me from the others out there on Etsy and eBay and whatever. Something to make my burp cloths stand out above the rest.
I think I’ve found it.
I love it! I am taking soft and snuggly flannel, super absorbent trifold diapers, and fun ribbons and trim and creating Nana’s Sweatshoppe’s soft and snuggly burp cloths for the fashionable baby.
Aren’t they adorable? You know you want one 🙂
I have always loved trim. Trim on pillows, trim on clothing, trim on curtains – you name it, I want to put some trim on it. So it only is fitting that I would love to add trim to the burp cloths.
Why “Nana’s Sweatshoppe” you may wonder? Well, while sewing the 20+ burp cloths, crib skirt, drapes, pillow, pacifier holders etc for Favorite Navy Wife, she began to refer to the dining room as Nana’s Sweatshoppe – and it stuck 🙂
No, I am not leaving the blog. I am adding to it. I am creating space in my life where craftiness, design, and love can flow through me using a different medium than the written word. I am going to spread the joy with fabric… and trim.
I am really excited about this new venture. Please share, share, share with your Nana friends, your prego friends, and anyone else you think might enjoy.
